Multiple Vocal Ensembles Offers Singers the Chance to Perform Throughout the School Year
APPLAUSE! helps students sing their way through a variety of musical genres at OPRFHS. We've provided coordination support for the Show Choir trip to Branson, the Gospel Choir Great America trip and were pleased to be able to purchase a keyboard for Ms. McGuire and new tuxedos for choir members.
For beginning and intermediate singers, Chorale and Treble Choir are curricular ensembles offering the study of vocal technique, musical terminology, and a diverse repertoire with four evening performances throughout the year.
Advanced singers can participate, by audition, in either A Cappella Choir or Chamber Singers. Both choirs perform at 4-6 public concerts each year, periodically accept performance invitations in the community and attend an IHSA State Organizational Contest.
Vocal Jazz: Midnight Blues & First Inversion
Student-run A Cappella groups: Take Five, No Strings, Six Chicks, Heels & Ties, Accidentals
Harmony is a multicultural choir ensemble for all students who enjoy singing, features a variety of choral music including contemporary, traditional, spirituals, and hymnal gospel songs.
The OPRFHS show choir, Noteworthy, is now in its sixth year. This highly selective group of singers, dancers and live band members performs in the Oak Park and River Forest community and Chicago throughout the fall and holiday season.

Prisms of Winter Concert
Every December the OPRFHS Music Department presents this wonderful 90 minute evening of continuous music from the band, choir, and orchestra. Always a sell-out event, we advise you purchase your tickets in advance on RevTrak (available about a month before the performance date). Please arrive early to enjoy the pre-concert performances by small ensembles in the auditorium lobby, beautifully transformed by APPLAUSE! volunteers into a winter wonderland.
The Huskie Music Fest
The Huskie Music Fest is an annual event in October packed with performances of the Band, Orchestra and Choir ensembles. The evening is a fundraiser for APPLAUSE!, and supports all the performing arts programs.
